Ethical Gemstone Sourcing
At Caram, ethical sourcing is at the heart of our mission. We go beyond compliance to ensure that every gemstone is sustainably mined, upholding our promise of transparency, trust, and respect for people and the planet.

Caram's Ethical Sourcing Standards
Our gemstone selection process is guided by four fundamental ethical principles:
01. Fair Labor Practices
We work only with suppliers who uphold fair wages, safe working conditions, and strict labor rights. We firmly reject child labor, forced labor, and exploitative practices, ensuring that our gemstones support communities, not harm them.
02. Environmental Responsibility
Sustainable mining is essential to reducing ecological impact. We prioritize suppliers who use responsible mining techniques, minimize land disruption, and invest in land rehabilitation efforts. Gemstones should be sourced in a way that protects our planet, not harms it.
03. Conflict-Free Commitment
Caram ensures that every gemstone is free from conflict and illegal activities. We meticulously verify that our gemstones do not contribute to human rights abuses, illegal trade, or financing of violence.
04. Transparency & Traceability
Customers deserve to know where their gemstones come from. While full certification is not always available, we work with suppliers who provide traceability in their sourcing practices, allowing our clients to make informed choices.

We are an Accredited Ethical Member (AEM) of the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA). This means that we have committed ourselves to responsible, ethical, and sustainable gemstone trading practices, including responsible sourcing of gemstones, abiding by duties of disclosure regarding treatment of gemstones, and following the ICA Code of Ethics. When you purchase a gemstone or fine jewelry from Caram you can rest assured that our products have been sourced with duty and care to assure the wellbeing of the communities involved in the gemstone supply chain.
